I posted a thread a little earlier in hopes that i could identify a rifle that i put a down payment on. After some research, i’m 100% sure that it’s a MT6601C.
If any of you own this rifle and can give me your opinion, i’d greatly appreciate it. Whether or not you like it, have had issues with it, or just plain love it.
Also, is there a significant difference between the MT6601’s and MT6700’s?
The MT6700 is a flattop, but the MT6601 has the A2 sights/carry handle. I’m sure you all know this anyways. I hope i end up having found a good deal here. Correct me if i’m wrong.
It’s used for 900$ and comes with:
Original Box/case
20 round mag x2
2 point sling
cleaning kit and CLP lube
Fiberglass and Ribbed plastic hand guards
4 x 32 power scope + rail and scope mount.

The most significant differences between the two are the upper receiver and the barrel. The 6700 has a flat top upper receiver (no M4 feed ramps if I recall) with a 1/9 twist 20" heavy barrel. The 6600/1 has an A2 upper receiver with a 1/7 twist 20" heavy barrel.
The 6600 had an A2 flash supressor, the 6601 has no flash supressor, and the 6601C has a pinned compensator. I can’t recall if my 1996ish manufactured MT6700 had an A2 flash supressor.
I have owned both a MT6700 and a MT6601C. I still have the 6601C, and I built a replacement for the 6700 using a Colt 6920 lower receiver, Colt M4 upper receiver, and 6601 1/7 medium weight barrel (reprofiled by ADCO).
I’ve had no issues with either. I recently had to sell one of my ARs to make room for a Colt 6940. I still have both of my 20" Colts; a less fortunate “M4” from a different manufacturer was parted out to several new owners.
