Hi!
I just noticed a 16" 1x7 Colt M4 barrel I have (date code 4/00) has the front sling swivel installed with a roll pin instead of a rivet.
Is this normal? Has anyone else seen this?

Hi!

All my Colt barrels had a rivet.
Colt has not used a roll pin to retain the front swivel to the FSB since about 1970. Someone swiped the side swivel and roll pinned the swivel on the FSB.
Wierd, I bought that barrel a couple of years ago from SAW. Didn’t look at it closely until I took pics of it to sell it.
Thanks for the info!
Just curious, do you know anything about Colt’s proof-firing procedure, which I asked about in this thread?
Same here.
