Im new to the ar world and was going to purchase an M4 after the new year. Came home one night after a show and my wife’s friend was visiting over Christmas. Her father passed away a year ago and the family wanted they wanted to sell off his rifle collection which included a wonderful assortment of ar’s including a 50 cal. Barrett, Sig 556, Ruger 556 and Colt Law Enforcement Carbine. I’ll be purchasing the Colt early next week. It has the restricted language and I’m assuming its an LE6920. Am I correct? It’s in brand new condition. They are asking 1300 and it comes with two Magpul 30 rnd mags. From all I’m reading around here, that’s a good deal these days… Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
The pre-panic value would be around $1100.
That’s what I figured but with all the uncertainty, back orders, panic and hysteria I’m not worried about a couple hundred over at this point.
Does it have a removable carry handle and an M4 profile barrel (has a thinner groove between the front sight and the muzzle)?
It’s possible that it’s a 6520 or any other carbine from the ban era.

The way things are today I would not hesitate on paying 1300$ for it . You can’t go wrong with the colt at all.
They’ve been changing hands at over 2K on the auction sites. Some over 3K.
You’ve got the right attitude. At 1300, it will either be the buy of your life, or a couple hundred more than you might pay if and when this stuff is over.
agree with the above… it would be high for a used rifle normally, but with today’s prices a good deal.
Googled a 6520 and this rifle is a 6920. Detachable handle and heavier barrell. Thanks
The rifle looks out of the box and he was sick and running his company. His wife said he never had the time to shoot and the rifle really hasn’t seen many rounds. I started looking for an m4 before Christmas and was worried that I couldn’t snag anything before a ban given prices and back orders so I’m not worried about a couple hundred more for a 6920. Thanks to everyone for all the info on the site. Priceless!
Friend of mine got a Colt 6920 Socom today for $2400. I would buy that quickly.
Paid $2300 for mine. Glad to have it.

These are the going rates in my local area. It’s awesome when I went to LGS and laughed at them for having marked them up that much. Good thing I don’t like the local stores anyways.
Definitely not over priced. Just saw one sold for 3100 on Gunbroker yesterday. Your a lucky man, don’t hesitate 1 second on that purchase. I tried to get a Daniel Defense M4V2 yesterday and gave up at 1400, thats just an upper

If somebody else hasn’t bought that Ruger and the price is right you may wanna snatch it up and flip it for a profit to get some more mags and ammo for the Colt. People are willing to pay crazy prices for anything black and banable these days…
Are they “throwing in” the mags? I was unaware that a normal, run of the mill, Restricted 6920 ever came with Magpul 30 rounders. Most I’ve seen, including mine, came with two 20 round USGI mags.
Mine came with 2-30’s.
Oh hell yes buy it. And if there’s any ammunition, you better buy it too…
Colt has been providing Pmags with some of their rifles, but I think only in the last year or so.
Right. That’s why I wouldn’t have thought a 6920 with “Restricted” rollmarks would have came with Pmags. I think they stopped producing them in '09.
