Colt LE 6920MP FDE First Look!

Just got some of these in. I am told that only 1500 of them will be made.

The anodizing is a bronze type color and what is most interesting is that they did the Receive Extension (kind of cool).

I like it. How much are they going for? Will you be getting any in stock?

The one I handled looked a little shinier than the picture might indicate. If anyone in Idaho wants one, Sawtooth Tactical has one in stock. Would dig it more if it were a midlength and ditched the M4 profile barrel.

Prices are on our website under Colt and we have a total of 5 in stock.

Sweet little gun, color anodizing looks the same as the Colt Modular. I wonder if the camo versions are going to follow?

Now thats a decidedly Un-Colt thing to do LOL

I know that Costa loves the FDE and it’s fine but is it really that big a deal that we need rifle lines in it like the new LaRue?

But it appears they ship it with black mags after going to the trouble of doing the RET?

Agree, they should have included FDE PMAG’s.

Picked mine up this week!
They also offer an OD version.

2 LGS’s have this rifle in stock for $1400 NIB. I got to look at one and other than the anodizing, its yer standard 6920 correct? I have NO experience with an anodized product. Is anodizing worth $4-500??

I didn’t pay that much. Haven’t looked at Grant’s site to see what he is charging. My LGS has one and wants $1499. I showed them the vendor I used and they scoffed that it was less than they paid. When I told them DSG Arms has regular 6920’s for $995 they didn’t believe me. I always give them a chance to be competitive but lately I order online.

Also, I bet if you add up the Magpul pieces that it comes with you further reduce the cost differential.

Edit: Grant’s price is competitive. Only you can decide if it’s worth it. For me it is.

I really like that OD model.
However I don’t see it being worth the extra $300.
I do wish more manufacturers would offer colored anodizing.

Looks like a quality piece, if deals can be had, I could see picking one up possibly.

Interesting. My guess is that they included the black Pmag because of the theory that black polymer is stronger than other colors and magazines are critical to performance.

Yeah, they’re pretty cool! I’d like to see one with a FDE Troy rail and Eotech. Clyde Armory has a bunch of them in stock as well.

My Academy had one for $1349. It sold very quickly. While the bronze looks cool, it and the FDE magpul furniture disagreed. Two complete different shades of color between the receiver and furniture. I would have probably taken the basic black 6920 sporter or LE carbine right next to it on the shelf which were both about $200-300 less.

For those in a desert environ, a light color doesn’t get as burning hot to the touch and tends to stay a bit cooler than a black part.

Gosh, and here I was thinking that the pretty color was all about looking good at the range or a class. Sounds like I am wrong in thinking that. :o

^^^^^ that’s good shit  The black ones are definitely better and more reliable :suicide:

Mainly the 20 rounders. I learned the hardway and bought an FDE 20 round P mag, 1st round right to magazine induced bolt over malfunction.

Or the southeast. I can tell you from experience that leaving the gun out in the sun when walking downrange to check targets can mean a damn near untouchable gun. I don’t know how much the receiver matters at that point, but that’s why I prefer tan furniture.
