Does anyone know for sure the correct alpha numeric third digit in the serial numbers of the Colt LE 6920s?
Is it LE"letter O"12345 or LE"Zero"12345???
Inquiring minds want to know…

Any chance it’s like most license plates and the same thing?
Looking at mine, I’m fairly certain it’s a zero. I’d call Colt though just to be sure.
I agree. The spacing seems a little farther off the E in LE and more properly spaced with the rest of the serial #. Also the “O” or “zero” seems a little enlongated in comarison to the lettering in the rest of the roll mark, for what that may mean. Unfortantely my serial # does not have another 0 (zero) in it for a better comparison.
Dang, now you’ve got me wondering.
I’d say it’s a zero, but only because the serial number stamp is a little above the ‘LE’ stamp, and the character in question is clearly a part of the serial number. If it were a letter, I think it would be a part of the ‘LE’ stamp.

Same shape as the zero at the end of my serial number, so I’m saying zero.
Yeah, there’s that too.

In our A & D records at work it’s recorded as a zero.
Another vote for “zero”. I’ve got another zero in the SN and they both look the same.
Our PD has some old ones that have multiple zeroes after the LE and they look identical to the first one after the LE. That is is looks like LE00005150 vs. LEO0005150.
Well the zeros have it…
