This is my 6920FDE, I believe it was initially anodized green, but they didn’t sell very well, thus they went back and cerakoted a batch FDE since it was popular at the time. I didn’t take any pictures but when you open up the upper and lower, you can see on the inside the original green anodizing.
I’ve used this gun at work for almost a year so it’s been tossed between my truck and patrol car on a daily basis. It’s also used for SWAT training and missions. High wear areas will wear. Obviously the brass deflector and receiver that gets hit by the dust cover will show wear. I didn’t capture pictures of the obvious wear caused by the charging handle.
The left side will have more wear because I’m right handed and when the rifle is hanging it’s banging against my kit. I also store it left side down when I slide it under the back seat of my truck.
Overall, nothing new to folks that have experience with cerakote. Just wanted to share Colt’s from the factory and curious how it stacks up to others.
