Ok, first off everything I did was purely cosmetic and can easily be returned to factory. I kept all the original parts!! Just wanted to have a little fun.
I have a Colt Sporter Match Hbar and have always liked the Colt Delta they sold, but they are very expensive and hard too find. So I thought I would build a modern take on that model, something Colt may release today if they wanted to build a upgraded 2019 Colt M16A2 Delta.
I added a Knights RAS M5 rail, GI sling, Cheek pad and Nikon 3x32 scope. Taking her out Saturday to see what she can do!
I took her out today and zeroed it at 100 yards, just over 1/2" groups!
The location we shoot at has steel targets at 650 yards 12" gong, 1,000 yards & 1,400 yards silhouette 12"x20" . After zeroing at 100 yards I decide to see what she could do at distance!
650 yards: I was on target within 3 shots after almost 1 full turn on the scope
1,000 yards: It required 1 full turn and I was on target within a few shots also
1,400 yards: I did 1 more full turn, I was by myself and saw impact a few times. Really needed a spotter, bringing the wife out tomorrow. Will post updates.
