My 6920 carry handle had some white spots where parkerizing should be so I called Colt. They gave me the address to send it in and that it would take 8-10 weeks or something like that to evaluate and see what they’d do. Well around 3 weeks later I got a box and they reparkerized or anodized the white spots and it’s good as new.
No charge.
Aluminum gets anodized.
Steel gets parkerized.
Can you tell if the same one was sent back to you?
Give it a shot of brake cleaner.
If it’s anodized, nothing will happen.
If it’s sharpie marker, it comes right off.

How bad was it? Pics?
Don’t have any before pics. There was some whiteish shadows on the top and bottom of the carry handle hounsing. Cosmetic only and not affecting function.
I would be able to tell a marker write over without brake cleaner. It is the same sight as far as I can tell. They even factory lubed the sight mechanism.
