Colt bolt marked MPLC

I have a Colt AR-15A2 Gov’t Carbine from the very late 1980’s to early 1990’s period. It has a bolt engraved MPLC rather than MPC, anyone know what that means? Thanks.

Your bolt was stamped on a monday. :eek:

I have seen colt barrels stamped with incorrect spellings as well.

The L is a date code corresponding to around 1996. Your bolt is not original to your gun.

Thanks for the reply. The bolt should be original, I made a mistake about when I aquired the gun, I actually bought it in the mid 1990’s.

That means somebody swapped the bolt before you bought it.
