So I purchased a new Colt BCG from MidwayUSA and it arrived friday.
When I was looking it over I noticed the C marking on the carrier is a dot matrix pattern, similar to how they stamp the bolt. My issues is I have never seen this on the carrier, and generally there is a nice clean C stamp on the carrier. Is this a legit Colt BCG? The package it came in was also different from the others I have seen, but it did seem to have that nasty Colt packing grease they use.
Does it have a C marking near the extractor spring and the copper colored extractor spring? I highly doubt that Midway is going to sell knock off Colt parts. Call me cray-cray.
I have never seen a lazered colt bolt and or carrier. My Colt bolt has a MPC on the bolt and a C on the Left side of the carrier toward the rear of the bolt carrier. I don’t think colt changed their process after 52 years, but I could be wrong. I haven’t bougth a colt in 30 years after they f$&#'d the series 70 government model, making series 80’s with butchered blueing and new safety and drilling bigger holes in the lowers for the trigger group on the SP1 and SP2. But a picture would help.

It’s real. They have been coming like this for the last 2-3 years.

As Scottryan said, it’s been standard for a few years. I bought a Colt BCG for a build that never happened; it has the same mark.
