COlT AR Serial Number

hey guys - I’m new here but spend alot of time over on LF.

I posed this question over there but am tying to cover the bases.

My buddy has a Colt AR with a Serial Number Prefix of CSL.

Its a 16 inch pencil thin barrel, no flash hider, A2 upper and stock.

Any help would be appreciated. I have heard that this is suppose to be a somewhat “RARE” MFG.

CSL is Colt Sporter Lightweight.

What is the serial number range. It probably not drilled for a pushpin thus not rare at all.

They aren’t that rare anyway.

Great - thanks for the info…

The serial number is below 2700.

As my knowledge is somewhat limited on ARs…what are you refering to as drilled for a “push pin” …take down pins or what?
