Colt and Connecticut

Pretty cool:

I like the 1960s price of $389.50 per AR15 Sporter.

The four year labor strike must have set them back a long way.

They forget to mention in the one caption that rack of rifles being sent to retailers will all go out of state now.

According to the Minneapolis Federal Reserve site’s inflation calculator, the same goods produced today would cost $2729.30.

What has government done with our money?

Nice pics. I like the close up of the 1918.

Too bad the people of Connecticut don’t appreciate it.

Because of its history I would to see Colt stay in CT. Because of the politics there I think its time to move.

If they move to a right to work state can they shake the union? How does that work? I would love to see colt end up in a free state and not tied down by greedy unions.

AMEN! Get that scum sucking parasite off of every industry in America.

If they want to ditch the union they should incorporate a company in a free state (right to work state), then formally and legally separate the company so it’s not a wholly owned subsidiary, then sell all machines/materials/contracts to that company for some reasonable amount of money, and close up shop in CT. The old company can take the money from their sale and break it up to the former employees as severance pay when they shut down. And of course any former employees could move with the company if they wanted to keep their job (if they could work out a reasonable compensation plan).

how much will the last 6920 with the “Hartford Conn” rollmark go for? lol

Sad to see this happen, but they need to do this not only for their interests, but to set an example as Magpul are doing.
