Are you sure that’s a Colt upper? My pre-Ban R6830 doesn’t have the M4 barrel and handguards, bayonet lug, or flattop receiver. Shell deflector profile looks different too.
May I ask how many bolts you want through in 20 years?
I’m seeing several things that may be potential red flags with that picture:
I wasn’t aware that Colt ever made the 7.62x39 Sporter II with an M4 profile imitation barrel with the 203 bracket step on the fore end. I did see and have friends that owned them back in the early 1990’s, with heavy 16" barrels.
The pic on that Armslist Ad shows a stepped fore end. The M4 handguards look like they could be imitations. I would need to personally handle the upper, inspect the upper receiver for Colt proof marks, look at the BCG, and look at the barrel markings.
Ask for detailed close-in pics of the upper in front of the ejection port, the left side of the upper, and on top of the barrel fore end before buying that.
This is what they looked like then on the Colt R6830:
LRRPF52, my R6830 was identical to the upper rifle in your pic (until I added the M4 handguards). It’s just a range gun so I doubt I’ll mess with the sear block or receiver pivot pin.
