I am going to look at a used 6920 and I have heard of some colts having non-standard pin sizes. I am not concerned about the FCG pins, only the takedown pins. I was wondering if the 6920s ever came with different takedown pin sizes. Any help is appreciated, thanks.
It’s well talked about but colt mfg began using standard sized pin starting in 2009. Most with LE markings are going to be the nonstandard pins but I’ve heard that for a little while some were made (SN# cut off somewhere in the 50k range I believe). I’d recommend just buying one at walmart or through G&R tactical and you’re sure to have new stock if it is really important to you.
The front take down pin will be pretty obvious. You should be concerned about the fire control group parts because it seems as if they are harder to locate and in my opinion it takes away from the overall value.
