Paid $1800 for mine back in April. Now I’m seeing them for $1300? Are they readily available at those prices? Ouch, I got burnt!
1300 is way too high right now. Colt cranked out a shit load of these guns.
I’m sure I’ve seen them under 1200.
I paid $1150 for mine (LEO pricing) in april and I see folks on here buying them for around that price now.
$1149 at any Texas Gun Show. Dealers have hundreds of them.
Store fronts around here was $1500+ for a Colt.
If you waited and purchased in the 6 month period after Obamamania then yes you paid a buyers premium.
They are selling for very near LE pricing. Local company has them for $1200, which is unheard of around here.
On a side not if anyone has been through the Colt armorers course in the last 3 years with the current cert, Colt is offering an armorers price of $1029.
so who is selling them at LE pricing for LE folks?
and how much would that be?
My local shop still has them in the 1499+ range and 6940s for 1899. =(
A slight veer…I was looking at the gun section of the local trader paper last night. There were people asking $1,200 - $1,800 for DPMS, Stag and Bushmaster M4’s. There were a couple of M&P15 OR’s selling for $1,100 and $1,200, respectively.
$1100 range at my local gunshop.
I seem to recall some for $1100 at the last Hampton, VA gun show.
Bought one for $1175 about a month ago. A shop around here is still asking in the $1800 range.
But is he selling them at that price?
A few here and there. Honestly no ARs are selling.
I sold a used Bushmaster for more than $2000 earlier this year. I can’t believe people get so silly about buying guns for a super premium in a panic. Same thing is happening in the housing market…

I saw the M&P MOA version for $999 at Sportsman Warehouse , Mesa AZ
In the next couple of months, there will be a huge supply of high quality ARs for the lowest prices we have seen in years - I hope everybody takes advantage of this and doesn’t put it off until the next scare.
I’ve been telling this same thing to people who have asked me about getting an AR.
It’s kind of like those people who live in hurricane prone areas like Florida, who wait until the hurricane is about to hit before shopping for plywood, a generator, and groceries. Don’t wait until the next scare, get what you need while they are available and the price is right.
