If you have never competed in Multigun before this is a great way to get started. Everyone is very friendly and helpful and you will have the opportunity to see many different weapon configurations.

REGULAR MATCHES IN THE REGION
Local 3Gun at Weld County Fish & Wildlife, Fourth Saturday of each month (starting JAN 2008)
Local 3Gun match with pistol, rifle, and shotgun multi-gun stages.
Bring 150 rounds per gun, and 10 slugs.
LOCATION: Weld County Fish & Wildlife range East of Ault on HWY 14 RANGE WEB SITE
Travel time is approx 30 minutes from HWY 14 & I-25.
Shooters’ Meeting: 10:00 AM (set up 8:00 AM)
Shotgun Ammunition: NO BUCKSHOT. Birdshot and slugs ONLY.
Cost $20, free if you are there by 8:30 to help set up.
This is a very friendly and helpful style of match. No stress only encouragement.

Between 12:30-2pm depending on how many show up and the COF that Zak chooses. That is with teardown.
Dumb question but would you be someone to contact about the IPSC shoot that takes place at WCFW? Tried e-mailing and calling Jerry about this Su but he never got back to me so I assumed the match was off due to weather.
No, but you might try Zak thru his website. He might shoot at that match. I know he is a member and I think he is on the Weld board.

He’s crazy. Make sure he knows that it isn’t a bayonet course, and give the RSO a taser. I kid, I kid… maybe. I’ve wondered what would happen if at a training class when you ran you gun dry if you flicked out your knife and pegged the target, or just yelled out “Get SOME!” or “Dog will HUNT!” at random.

I am back. Just don’t have time to make this one due to prior commitments. I’m still re-assembling my life.
I may have to time my next trip to Co to include a shoot with you guys or at Pueblo West.

Remember the Pueblo & Weld matches are VERY different (which is really great!), both absolutely great and both have the same great, friendly, knowledgeable and encouraging environments.
If you want more Multi Gun with Hordes of Zombies inside of 200yds go to Weld and if you want to fight with your rifle with much of it between 200-425 do Pueblo. They are back to back the same weekend and it can be tough driving to both or I would:mad: I try and alternate each month:D
Hozer set up a re-enactment CoF of the SEALs vs Pirates scenario that was OUTSTANDING last year. They built a pitching bow deck to shoot from… after a short sprint and dive onto it… but since headshots off of a pitching boat at 30yds is too EZ for Pueblo boys;) they put the pirates at 200 yds and gave the pirates 6 more guys:p
Zak had a single shotgun CoF one time with 47 Zombies:eek:, i.e., steel;) If you don’t know how to reload well before this one you will be a reload expert afterward;) Last month his canted rifle thru narrow slotted barricades was very challenging and made me put F2S’s “Trajectory Appreciation for Unconventional Positions” article to good use.
These are really FUN matches with shooters of a variety of skill levels! Hope to see y’all out there one day!

p.s. the 180 Rule still applies to bayonets and you can’t throw them at steel nearer than 25 yds… Zak is a safety stickler;)
What a BLAST! Zak hosts a good party and it was a great bunch of guys to shoot with. M4Fundi is a really interesting guy to shoot and talk with. How many people do you know who shoot an old school Hi-Power in three-gun.
Four great stages.
-A 40 steel target all shotgun stage that had my arms feeling like putting after loading and pumping (and missing 
).
-Then do it all again with handgun.
With a shotgun I’ve never shot steel, or anything below the horizon so that was really interesting. I really need to work on my reloading. My TA11H ACOG blurred out on my badly on the 200 yard steel, I think it was too bright and blooming and messing with my astigmatism. That and an imperfect zero lead to me taking no-hits on two of the 12 targets, but on the last three targets I shot the targets 1-2-3. Practice.
-Shot an 870 Express with a 10rnd tube and some California shell holders. Need more holders and some dummy rounds to practice the loading. Gun ran perfectly.
-STI Edge (40SW) ran like a champ. I haven’t gotten around to tuning the mags, so I was leaving one round in the mags at slide lock. I just tried to shoot too fast with a target focus, but when I pulled back to the front sight and gave the trigger some lovin’ it works great.
-JP Upper on DPMS lower. Geissele SSA Match Trigger and adjustable gas with a regular carbine buffer makes for such a smooooth preforming rifle. I’d like to comment about the recoil, but I don’t really remember it. I have the trigger turned up in weight and it still is like an extension of my finger. TA11H worked at 200 and 20 yards. Need ‘Light Zipper’ to tone down the reticle. BAD worked great for the limited mag changes, but even more with the admin unloading and showing clear.
It was 50s and overcast, so fiber optics had that insane glow about them.
Really need to work out stage strategy and pay more attention in general to the little things that can make a stage easier (ex. angle on steel to get it fall).
Can’t wait for next time. The 90 minutes drive seemed so much shorter coming home than going there. Hope to see more M4Cs there next time.
Really enjoyed meeting you and getting to watch you slay Zombies! Normally I’m accustomed to helping shooters police their brass this was the first time I had to help police up bayonets:p (For those with worried looks we are just joking)
“M4Fundi is a really interesting guy to shoot and talk with.” I don’t know how interesting I am to talk to, but my shooting today can only be described as interesting:eek: I’m still licking my wounds from todays performance:( Thats the great thing about these matches is you can quickly find out if something is not dialed. Today my dial broke off and I was using a vise grip to turn the knob:mad: This particular P-35 has always run flawlessly… It appears I have a mystery to sort out:confused: Hopefully I’ll get sorted and we can train some for next month!
I think we need to look into putting together a CO Regional Training Group:eek:
