Ill admit I did mine (silver - looks white, had the lower, 20yrs old, waiting for upper to ship, was board, and with a friend who also had a lower, waiting for upper… It happens). Anyways, I used a crayon we found, melted it in with a hairdryer and after ks of rounds, clp, motor oil, and gun scrubber, its still there. I cant see spending $ on it. Im not in to it anymore, but it looks like you did a decent job. Clean and crisp. If its a range gun cool, anything more… welp.
I have used crayons too .it works and it removable down the road

I didn’t close this one, but in retrospect, I probably should have, as it had nowhere to go but down.
