+1 I followed the instructions to the letter and they found (and removed) one polyp that was too small to test (according to the doctor). The peace of mind I now have made it all worth it.
Glad things came out ok. When I had mine they found and removed two polyps. Everything has been ok since.
- Get some popsicles (of the allowed colors).
Are they to numb yourself before the procedure?
Did the pills when I had mine done. The first few hours I was wondering if they’d ever work. Next I knew, I was praying for them to stop working! Spent the night on the throne - too miserable to feel hunger.
It was worth it tho’, they found and removed 3 polyps. I had sedation for the actual procedure, but the doc decided it would be cool to wake me up to watch him cut out the polyps. Some things I just don’t need to see.
thought it would be “cool,” eh? well apparently my doctor thought it would be cool to wake me up with unimaginable pain… so they aborted halfway up, on this mission. great waste of time.
elaborate… did he wake you up DURING the procedure?!?
pain woke me up during the procedure… i usually do wake up and have some discomfort that i remember, but apparently i woke up and told them to get that thing out of my ass forth wit.
haha. wow. hahaha.
maybe a BC will help the headache and the caffeine might spur a bowel movement?
BC? whats that?
sorry I did not see you were finished already, it’s aspirin, caffeine, in a powder form taste like sh it but only for 5 seconds caffeine is good at getting ride of headaches, the aspirin does its thing as well, when it thins the blood I would guess that helps with the caffeine constricting blood vessels a little, I know a little involved but I just sleep at a Holiday Inn
you can’t take aspirin within 7 days of a colonoscopy, BECAUSE it thins the blood. cant take it for 7 days after, either, if they biopsy.
Just when I though the process couldn’t get any more imtimidating…wow. I do sympathize, BK.
I just can’t ever see the day, ever. Personally I am not made for that test, and as such the “incompatibility” would be overwhelming. In fact I don’t know what would get me to do it except fear of certain death.
good to know at least it’s over hope all went well
By then, it’s too late.
Yea, how’d ya like to carry a colostomy bag around for the rest of your life? ![]()
Have you ever wrote your doctor a bad check?
maybe you look like someone who once beat him up?
Just from whats happening to you, this “colonoscopy”
procedure makes “water-boarding” sound like Disneyland.
what now? are they going to “try” anything else?
I’m also understanding why doctors call what they do as “practice”.
Hope it’s all downhill and smooth sailing from here for ya.
probably another colonoscopy under general anesthesia. another 24 of fasting and flushing in the near future. gotta love it.
That is how they did me, I was so sick with the Flu that they thought I had something else wrong (I was very anemic).
Wasn’t so bad for me since I had been hospitalized for 5 days already and thought I might not make it when I went in…
Sorry you gotta have another go at it. That is the Shits
(gotta get one in right?)
Buckaroo
Holy cow, waking during the procedure? That has got to be BAD. Thank heavens I was out of it for the entire thing. In fact I lost about a day of my life, not much recollection of what happened. My wife told me later I was quite amusing afterwards while still under the influence of the drugs. But I prefer it that way to what you got.
Hoping things go better next time. Good luck.
