I’d like one too, but 34-36" depending on how you size them. Tan works for me as well. ![]()
Question anyone familiar with the Cobra buckle. Do you have to remove half of the buckle to get your gear on the belt ?
I use the Raven Concealment holsters and mag pouch. Looks like it would be a tight fit to thread items onto it.
I’m still waiting on my Raven Holster and mag pouches so I’ll answer your question if and when they finally get here:D.
As for putting on the belt with your pants, I found it easier to just remove half of the buckle, threading the belt thru the pant loops, then reattaching the half buckle, then finally clicking both halves together. Then throughout the day, if you need to undo your pants for whatever reason, just unsnap the two halves. At the end of the day, just reverse the process (unclip, remove half, remove belt…)![]()
Thanks for the info !
Where can we get these?
The whole belt or just the buckle?
I’ve had a Jones Tactical EDB for a while (black/marpat brown). Like it a lot.
The velcro is nice but can sometimes make threading an OWB Phantom a bit difficult … but it works. Other times when IWB it is nice to have the end retained by something more than a loop. Fit, finish and quality is first rate. Prices are good. Rich is an awesome fellow to deal with and he helped be out despite the fact that I screwed up the initial order. Just be sure you are accurate and honest about the size you order. Highly Recommended!
I may just order another up in al black.
The whole belt. Nobody seems to be offering it.
Is that a 1.5"?
Nope.
http://ctoms.ca/ has 1.5" (not 1.75") cobra buckle belts in coyote and black - they’re not up on their website yet but they’re in stock. they’re double layer webbing with HDPE sandwiched in between for stiffness.
to order, you have to call and talk to john or rick. mil/LE pricing is $41.55 CAD.
edited to add: it’s called the X-Belt QR1.5
now that I have one in hand, and am in fact wearing it as I type this, this overlap is definitely less than ideal.
ETA: I have a Jones, if there was any confusion.
MM can we get one without the rear drop down V ring?
actually it doesn’t have any V-rings. instead, there are loops that you can attach a carabiner to in the front, and the back, if needed. this is to keep the belt low profile (and eliminate the cost of the V-rings) for those who don’t have to use it as a safety harness. here’s what it looks like:

Just order a few of those for me and my buds…Christmas presents. :lazy:
Anything from CTOMS is bombproof. The rear drop down V ring on the 1.75" is removable.
piqued my interest! as I’m running 1.5 gear also. Thanks for all the info
I just got a Wilderness Instructor Belt with the HDPE reinforcement. It is noticeable stiffer vertically than the plain five stitch belt I have and on par with the several premium leather belts (A&G Custom Leather, The Beltman) that I own.
For less than $60 delivered in less than a week, I consider it a bargain. No, it doesn’t have Cobra buckles. But I see nothing to be gained by using Cobra buckles in a belt to hold up your pants, a pistol, and a couple or three magazines.
Yeah, RETAIL, but do they cost that when bought in bulk by a kit maker?
I am sure they cost less than $30 but in the same breath I’d say that you are unlikely to find a Cobra rigger’s belt priced any lower than Kary’s, and I also think it would be hard to find one built any better than his are. He is not priced higher than other manufacturers and when you add in the labour to construct the belt, it’s hard to see where the profits are.
I have a couple belts from Kary as well and they’re great. Built fast and to your specifications. I’d give him a try as I’ve been happy with my purchase.
