IS this 6 pos stock brand marked or unmarked? Any comments from users would be great as well.![]()
Mine has no discernable markings. It is mil-spec diameter and 6 position. My LMT and Vltor have 5 positions. The Vltor has its logo on it, this is all information you probably know. Iāve never had any issues with mine and Iāve shot the rifle a lot.
Cool! Thanks! By any chance, would you know if the military issue Colt m4 come with Colt marked stocks or are they just plain like the CMT stock?
I was just looking at a Colt take off today - I noticed no āColtā markings nor any other markings. I have a CMT inbound and will look at the relief cuts to see if there is a difference there.
THanks! Id really appreciate that.![]()
Since weāre discussing 6 pos stocks⦠Does anyone have the ānew and improved 6 pos stockā from PK Firearms? Great features. Just not sure whether the tube, end plate and castle nut are milspec or not.

I thought the Colt REās were 4 position and not 6.
Colt has (or a least used to have) a square cut in front of the latch on the underside of the stock. Aftermarket stocks generally have a radiused cut in that location.
Iām not sure if STAG stocks are the same as CMT, but if they are⦠they are crap. I bought a stag assembly to get the mil spec RE and hardware/buffer. But the stock was not acceptable. The pin that engages the position holes in the RE is too long. Thus the latch has tons of rattle and play in it when installed. Even after adjusting the pin as low as I could practically get it, it still was not right. Also, the latch spring is really weak compared to a good stock.
 Great. I was under the impression this stock was good. Thanks! ![]()
Any users of the PK Firearms improved stock? Im really curious about this one esp since the CMT/Stag stock is now off my list.
The Colt M4 Stock I have is smooth with no texturing on the latch itself. It was purchased with a two position buffer tube, which I sold with a Colt āNā marked carbine stock to someone doing a retro build. I would agree that the Colt and LMT M4 style stocks I have are much nicer than the Stag ones Iāve seen. They both reside on rifles with CMT buffer tubesāthe stocks were take-offs from upgraded rifles.
