if anybody’s interested, the CMP is selling NIW 1911 mags, made by Checkmate in the 80’s (from what I can see in their pics) $8.00 each, limit 10… Plus shipping, handling. They might make good range mags.
Last I heard, the part of the bill that provided for this had been removed. I’ll try to find it.

These will be sold through the CMP along with those Garands and Carbines in storage in Korea…It’s never going to happen.
