CMMG vs CMMG Evolution?

Hi, I am new to the .22 conversions…I was wondering the difference between the old CMMG stainless steel .22 conversions vs the new “evolution” CMMG stainless steel conversions in basic terms lol…pros / cons? Worth the price difference? Plus, what other accessories are a necessity for .22 drop ins? Anti-charge handle? Again, Im new to this and looking for help, thanks.

Sorry, can’t help.

Just buy a S&W AR in .22 LR. They are light and 100% reliable.

The newer Evolution has live feed extraction, cotter pin holding the firing pin, roll pin holding the extractor, and some other goodies. The one you have pictured has the forward assist. Thats why the extra $20.
I have a review of the CMMG M4 LE Quebec farther down in the forum.
It’s the best system I’ve tried. And it’s made from real AR uppers and lowers. Not platstic or pot metal.
I have over 3400 rounds through it with 1 FTE that didn’t cleat the ejection port.
Accuracy has been more than acceptable from a stock barrel. 50 yards with Eley Match gave me .807 groups. Winchester 555 bulk, 1.2.

The forward assist and bolt hold open options of the CMMG Evolution mean that you can maintain full functional simulation of the host weapon.

I believe the new model can also be used with piston uppers without removing the op-rod. I wrote an overview and initial impression on my website, but have not been able to put the kit through it’s paces yet.

The new model can be used with a piston system without removing the piston.
With all the standard features and available upgrades, the Evolution is the best deal out there. Both my conversions have over 1000 rounds with one kit having 3 fte’s out of the first mag using Winchester 555 and BDM mags.
The CMMG mags seem to work better but the BDM’s will work.
