Just got back from browsing Clyde’s and wanted to let people here know they are bringing a new rifle to market. It’s low tech and nothing new but it’s something people have been asking for for quite some time. They haven’t ironed out the details so I’ll let them talk about it if they want. My interest in the project is convincing them to leave the thing pure and not go with new (non-colt) parts. Hopefully they decide to come here and talk about it.
I put my money on a SBR Colt 6450 9mm. At least that is what I hope it is going to be.
I could see that one… although I’d like something more along the lines of a Gov’t A2 or better yet, A4. Could call it the 6945.
Perhaps a 6520 flat top?
I would love a 14.5" 6520 with flat top and F marked FSB. Even just an upper would be ideal.
Another SCAR stock platform?
I’d have to pick up one of those uppers for work, would be nice when I don’t need the shorter length of my Commando upper.
SCAR setup for a 10/22?

6520 flat top
Hey guys,
I’m Cade from Clyde Armory and I was directed to this thread by a customer. It is true, we are currently working with Colt to produce a flat-top 6520. Colt will be calling it the AR-15A4 6720. We are finalizing some of the details, such as price and which front sight to use, but for the most part they are done. We expecting delivery soon after we move into our new building in February. I will probably start putting together a waiting list here soon if there are a lot of interested people.
Before we finalize everything on this rifle, I thought it would kind of nice to get some input from the guys and gals who will be buying these. Colt has brought up the option of using an A.R.M.S. Folding Front Sight (#41-BL). So, even though I’m pretty sure I know what the answer will be, would everyone rather see that or the standard FSB?
Take care,
Cade
Standard FSB, without a doubt.
What is the price point going to be like? 6920ish i would hope considering BCM will be releasing lightweight uppers next year as well.
Use the FSB from the 6933. Anything else would be an abortion.
Nothing ARMS for me. Troy would be cool. Standard FSB would be cool; am I reading correctly that this is just the front sight, not an implied added rail?

Correct, just the FSB. Also, instead of having a carry handle, these will come with the Matech rear sight found on the 6940.
We won’t know the price until they decide on everything, which will hopefully be soon.
Standard FSB. Don’t sully such a fine product with ARMS components.
FSB for me as well. Ditch the Matech. Too fragile. A KAC-Knight’s Armament 200-600 meter rear flip up sight or MI/BCM Rear BUIS (SPLP), would be my choice, or at least offer it as an option. They are more durable.

I understand wanting to go with something folding but there really isn’t an option. Colt cheesed out on the 6940 sight and the ARMS sight is hokie. What would be bad ass is if you could get the Knights folding sight. But I doubt that would happen. I say stick with the standard sight. It’s on the 6920 and no one seems to mind. The military hasn’t complained yet either.
