I thought I would post some pics if certain cleaning equipment. Keep in mind that you “don’t” need this stuff, however, it sure does make things easier for you.
The tools are from either Brownells or Sinclair International. Specific manufacturers product are through them.
The Chamber brush is dedicated to that rod, made for it. The lug recess tool works like a champ, load the cotton roll, collapse it into the sleeve and when it stops against the recvr’s end, it opens up, a few twist and it’s done.
If a bore guide is of concern, the JP Enterprises works great. I always separate the lower and upper. Put this in and it has the oil/solvent slot.
The Otis kit helps with cleaning the bolt tail and head. Rags, and qtips aren’t in there and are still used.
The 12 gauge brush gets a small rag wrapped around it and cleans the upper’s inside quickly, finished with qtips, etc.
Of course, the collection of Dewey rods for the gang.
Really, the barrel extension cleaner is a good addition. Not essential but it makes cleaning that area so much easier. The tool runs $20 or so but the cottons wabs are dirt cheap. I’ll never go back to Q-tips again.
