The wife & I went to see it friday night in 3D. The original movie was probably the coolest movie I remember seeing (20+ times) as a kid, and this new version stuck closely to the original.

The special effects were excellent, but I was a little dissapointed with the overdone cgi during the medusa scene. I actually thought the original was more convincing, but then again, that was almost 30 years ago!

Im not sure why so many critics gave it poor reviews? Probably because it didnt make enough of a political statement?

If you are old enough to have enjoyed the original as a kid, I highly recommend it. A buddy of mine from work who wasnt even alive when the original came out saw it tonight, and said he really enjoyed it as well.

I wish it were a little longer though, but overall I give it a solid 4 stars.

the movie felt rushed and some parts that felt random and weird. It was ok to me. But I played some God of War 3 afterwards :smiley:

I agree. I think an extra 1/2 hour would have done this movie good if the time was used properly. I also missed the little owl, and didnt care for how they wrote him off so quickly:(

I thought the demi-god chick (Io) was smokin" hot though!

couldn’t stop chuckling how Perseus was pretty much speaking like he did in Avatar, waiting for Na’vi to jump out anytime during the film.

CGI was great, Acting was good. Writing was done by a 3rd grader.

I disagree, obviously the Titans represent evil corporate greed and influence. The Kraken represents Capitalism that will destroy us all. Perseus is the brave community organizer who has come to save us and Pegasus represents the great and wonderful socialist vehicle he will use to achieve social justice.
Now Medusa represents the health care industry that kills people by turning them to stone, this is obviously a metiphor for people being frozen out of the health care system. So the message is Perseus must cut the head off Medusa or kill our Health care system and take over its power. He and pegasus “socialism” will then use the power of healthcare to bring down evil capitalism.
Come on People “wake up”!

P.S. the three headed dog repressents house republicans Steny Hoyer, John Boehner, and Mitch Micconnell Guarding Healthcare and must be killed to.

The wife and I went to see it last night. It was fun and it was popcorn fodder nothing more nothing less. Just light entertainment and lots of action.

Agreed… I did not expect anything more.

The GF loved staring at Sam Wirthington… not much to look at for me tho. Oh well. Was fun enough but nothing special.

3D in CotT was an afterthought. It was supposed to be released a month or so earlier but with the current 3D trend they decided to redo the Post and add 3D in. This is why it didn’t look good. Avatar or Alice were much better examples of modern 3D tech and really show off what it can do. They were shot with 3D in mind and it makes all the difference in the world.
