Looks like the leg workouts are off for several weeks if not months. I’ll still be able to do cardio and upper body, but the right knee cap needs a definite rest. I will probably have to do some form of physical therapy to balance the strength of the knee.
Well I didn’t get it from high heels. Tell ya what though, there are times when I feel like someone is prying my kneecap off with a screwdriver. I’ve been on something similar from GNC for nearly a month, but this is going to take more than that stuff. There is no good position to hold the leg, and I had to watch the Michigan hockey game and the Wings hockey game with my leg propped up on a pillow.
I also found out that the elliptical works the quads a hell of a lot more than running ever could. Geez, I’m in good shape and my legs were absolutely granite stiff today after 2 days on that thing.
I too have gotten back into running for the last 3 weeks, and have been experiencing pain in my knees and ankles. I haven’t ran in about a year prior to 3 weeks ago, but have never had any pain in my joints like now. I think I’m gonna try some new running shoes to see if it helps, but I might try that osteo bi-flex too.
Talk to an ortho about Synvisc or Orthovisc. Another more serious option is a surgical realignment.
This is coming from the guy who is a worst case scenario of this crap. Got my case from the US Navy and only found out about it after a motorcycle accident. Who’d have thunk it?
