Chinese M22/Type 56 Export

I’m posting these pics for Dr. Mark.

The Chinese produced a milled Type 56 variant labled as a “M22” for export all over the world.

I don’t know if they’re still in production, but with the production of stamped 56’s for decades, I kind of doubt it.

The only difference I see between the milled Type 56 in Chinese service and the M22 the lack of the integral spike bayonet on the M22.

The Chinese Polytech Legend, which were imported to the US in the mid to late 80’s, are basically semi auto M22’s.

These are Type 56’s with the integral spike bayonet for comparison.

Good pictures and lesson.

It even has the original selector lever markings “L” and “D” like the original Type 56 rather than an “S” and “F” as some others have done.

I would love to have both of those…the AK and the 151Mutt…It really pisses me off that the government doesn’t turn around and sell military vehicles back to the public (in mass quantities)…We’d rather give them away to foreign nations for pennies on the dollar or dump them into the ocean(s).

Cool pics though:cool:

Thanks Templar.

Good info on the standard Type 56 vs the M22.

If you are referring to the rifle at the top, I do believe that is an actual M22 and not a clone. The third pin gives it away.

Just shows how f***ed up the government is. For some stupid reason they can’t de-militarize by taking the radio, gun mount, etc… Out of it. Instead they have tv destroy the entire thing. Since the government is in debt it would make sense to sell them here where they will make More money for them.

Wow… having owned a pre-ban Norinco, and currently owning a milled Yugo, I can only imagine the best of both worlds with THAT AK (where’s a drooling smiley when you need it?!?!)! Great story & pics!

Yup.

Runs well with the selector in the middle position too.
