(Bloomberg) – China issued strong private warnings to the US government about a planned trip to Taiwan by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, which included a possible military response, the Financial Times reported.
The warnings were much stronger than those made previously when China wasn’t pleased with US policies and actions related to Taipei, the paper said, citing unidentified people familiar with the issue.
Eventually they will get tired of us dicking around in their back yard (Taiwan) and say ‘no more’ just like Russia did (and is currently doing) in Ukraine.
When that day comes, I predict we will send the same number of troops to Taiwan as we sent to Ukraine…
Key difference. We aren’t single handily supporting the Russian economy by buying their shit on Amazon and making sure WalMart is fully stocked with Russian products.
They day China actually does F around and find out, they will be committing economic suicide. Currently they are winning an economic war, they don’t want to end that by starting a military war. Nothing in Taiwan is worth the revenue we pump into their GDP.
If they day ever comes that we stop buying their shit and return to making our own shit here, they will be in a lot of trouble. They would crash harder than Russia did in 1991.
Do not dismiss the problems that they are having domestically and the problems that are going to get worse here in the US before the election. Both govt have big domestic reasons to have an international issue to take the focus off of domestic problems…
