Cheap but good Lights

I forget who, and where but someone gave me a website that has really good(i think thats what he said) tactical lights for under $50. If anyone or the person that told me can type it up again that would be a lot of help, Thanks

Anyone here of Trustfire, or Ultra Fire?

Just spend a few extra bucks and get SUREfire.

Surefire G2 is under $50.

Grant has a good deal too: http://www.gandrtactical.com/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?preadd=action&key=G2

A Surefire G2 Nitrolon is all you’ll ever really need.

I’m waiting on the G2L to get back in stock. A little more then $50 but the batteries sweeten the deal. Not to mention you get 12 hours instead of 60 minutes of usable light.

There is a package with the Olive Drab color… now could i just spray paint it black, or would that not look good or would the paint rub off.

its between the G2 and the 6PL … i honestly like Metal flashlights better… just like i like metal lighters better than plastic.

I’ve got a G2 on my Arsenal Inc. SLR-106FR, I had a 6P on it but I wanted to lighten it as much as possible.

I have a 6PL on my 6920, and it’s a great light.

Again, the G2 is really all the light you’ll need, but if you prefer an aluminum body, you can’t go wrong with a 6P.

Pretty sure they come in black too, hombre

+1+ on the SF.G2/G2L

If you wish to “Lego” your own flashlight, there’s <Lighthound>. . .

Yea and Aluminum lightbodys remove heat better as well…

Pentagon makes good quality light that are not to expensive and you get the lifetime warranty.

The newer Black G2L and G3L’s have a metal bezel similar to the 6P LED. I believe they did this because of the heat issue affecting the lights output and run time.

Cheap but good lights?

Define “cheap”. Define “good”.
What is the intended application?

Not soap-boxing here- this is my perception of my application only-
How well an item meets my need is the primary drive for purchase.
Secondary consideration is price of said item in relation to my budget.
I am not saying that I only buy the “best” or most costly, but that which meets my requirements with the best cost-efficiency.

A $12 Key-chain LED is fine for 90% of my light use, but would be disastrous from a weapon-employment standpoint.
A SureFire M98 12 volt light is superb for it’s light output, but is prohibitively expensive (and big, and heavy, and too bright for indoor use).
A SureFire G2 will be fine for 99% of users (including me, most of the time) in an inexpensive mount attached to a carbine, but not for a pistol (unless hand-held).

For most uses (handheld or mounted), the G2 ($36 from G&R) is as inexpensive as I would go for tactical quality light.
I have other lights that I consider to be superb, but they do not come in the “cheap” flavor- to me they fall into the “value” category.

YMMV

I have a brand new G2L and it has the metal bezel. I also bought the LED head for my 6P nightstand light at the same time. I winced when I spent the money to upgrade an already good light, but the LED head is outstanding. 10 or more times the runtime with a brighter light is a no-brainer for the price difference.

A Surefire G2L is the absoulute intersection of quality and value.

Yes … you can choose black but it clearly says OD for the Package deal. So im not sure if i choose black it will effect the deal.

If you’re talking about this; http://www.gandrtactical.com/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?preadd=action&key=G2-P

There is a pull tab to change the ‘COLOR’ from Black (default) to Tan or Olive Drab.

I know … but look above … it think it says that the package deal is only with the OD.
