Charlie Gibson Palin/Obama questions compared

To those that say there is no media bias…Obama got his experiance questioned how many times? Was his religion questioned? How about any hardball questions at all?

Obama interview:
How does it feel to break a glass ceiling?
How does it feel to “win”?
How does your family feel about your “winning” breaking a glass ceiling?
Who will be your VP?
Should you choose Hillary Clinton as VP?
Will you accept public finance?
What issues is your campaign about?
Will you visit Iraq?
Will you debate McCain at a town hall?
What did you think of your competitor’s [Clinton] speech?

Palin interview:
Do you have enough qualifications for the job you’re seeking? Specifically have you visited foreign countries and met foreign leaders?
Aren’t you conceited to be seeking this high level job?
Questions about foreign policy
-territorial integrity of Georgia
-allowing Georgia and Ukraine to be members of NATO
-NATO treaty
-Iranian nuclear threat
-what to do if Israel attacks Iran
-Al Qaeda motivations
-the Bush Doctrine
-attacking terrorists harbored by Pakistan
Is America fighting a holy war? [misquoted Palin]

Nevermind the fact that Charlie Gibson has no fucking clue what the Bush Doctrine is. Sarah was correct in asking him to clarify since the Bush Doctine, if there really is such a thing, spans several issues, not just pre-emption

In an interview last week Rove explained there are 4 different Bush doctrines…Palin was correct in asking Gibson to define which one.

please keep in mind, liberal pundits such as ol “Charlie” are America hating, anti-freedom fools who believe the socialist agenda is best for America…, i got news for them…, move to a true socilist state like Cuba and see how long you last there !

I’m not sure I agree that the Gibson interview was biased. He asked tough questions for a newcomer on the stage. Giboson’s Bush Doctrine line of questioning was more than a little sophomoric in its execution.

I don’t think Palin acquitted herself poorly. I think she did quite well.

How does one get experience in foreign policy? The whole foreign policy experience question is a bit of a red herring relative to what the policy actually is. I actually think Americans are smart enough to figure this out, which is why Obama has such little credibility on the issue and why he was desperate for Biden. Sadly Biden has the right experience, he just didn’t learn the right lessons from that experience.

Both operate from an idiotic world view:

If you believe that diplomacy alone and talking with our enemies will convince them of the error of their ways, I don’t care how much experience you have. You’re still a retard. All diplomacy, throughout history, is backed by the credible threat of force.

If you don’t at least represent the will to use it, you will be taken advantage of. It doesn’t take a ph.d in international relations to know that.

I agree, but Charlie is only one of the many talking heads of ABC, which is the digital equivalent of a socialist mullet wrapper. The last 40 years of the American socialist movement has garnered half of the voters. You only need to look at the increase of democratic voters in that time.
Socialism serves only as the transition of capitalism to communism. The liberals have achieved a 50% democratic voting base in just 25 years, loosely. Their tool of choice has been the daily barrage of network television bias, and is second only to progressive immigration of uneducated workers.

agreed. the whole foreign policy experience is a red herring. what “foreign policy” experience did Clinton, or even Reagan have when they entered office?

being president is not like being a Dictator. the idea is to surround yourself with excellent people and to manage their talents. this is called “executive” experience. which a Governor has and a Senator does not. unless they were a chairman of come committee or something.

it still gives me a tickle to think the Dems are wrapping themselves around the axle comparing our VP candidate to their Presidential candidate. and not doing a very good job at that …

Why would he religion need to be questioned?

Well, Palin’s was and Obama’s has been in the news a lot with his many questionable associations.

Socialism, and the feckless greed that enables it, are well entrenched, to the point that mere “debate” will not make them go away.

A TV news show recently was comparing the effect of Obama’s tax plan on families in different income ranges. One family (husband/wife/child) earned approx. $32K income/yr. Obviously, they pay no federal income taxes (and, obviously, they know that). Under obama’s plan, they would be getting an additional $2500 in federal "tax relief,’ which is, of course the EIC. Basically, tax rebates on taxes they never paid in teh first place. Or, as I always knew it, “welfare.”

The interviewer asked how they would like an extra $2500 of “tax relief,” and their eyes lit up, a smile grew on their faces, and they said, 'That would be great!"

Good luck telling those people that socialism is a bad thing.

Obama’s religious mentor was considered a looney, yet when it comes to McCain’s religious mentor, you don’t see to many people concerned him.

Considering Rev. Rod Parsley thinks Islam is universally evil… and that Islam is a false religion that he calls for Christians to wage war on? And then McCain calls him a spiritual leader.

Vote for whoever you want, but gun-forums aren’t the place to argue politics. As it seems every user only considering owning firearms a cause to argue about.

When McCain attends Rev. Rod Parsley’s church for 20 years then there is a comparison. Short of that, whatever equivalence you’re trying to make does not hold water. Unless of course you would to like share with us your personal understanding of the McCain/Parsley relationship.

Nice try but McCain isn’t a member of his church.

Moreover McCain REJECTED Parsley’s endorsement for his statements on Islam. Funny that you missed that.

Check the facts, 3 minutes on Google might save you some embarrassment later. Likewise this false claim has been reported on quite extensively by ABC among others. That there was no basis in fact apparently wasn’t enough to kill it.
