Charles Daly Defense Comeback?

I read an article stating beginning in 2012 Charles Daly Defense was coming back. Does anyone have more info. on this? They made some very nice rifles back when they were still in business.

Found this in the internet:

http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2011/12/foghorn/charles-daly-and-cd-defense-to-return-to-u-s-market-at-shot-2012/

Here’s an excerpt:

HARRISBURG, PA — After a two-year absence, the Charles Daly® brand and its tactical subsidiary, CD Defense™, have re-entered the American marketplace, with distribution by Trans World Arms LLC of Harrisburg, PA.

Best of luck to them. They seemed to really be listening to the forums and producing quality configurations that people asked for, but they probably shot themselves in the foot by dropping out of the market when they did.

If they make it, maybe there will be hope for their version of the IMI Tavor making to these shores…

That’s great news! I agree, I saw every sign of a company making big efforts to do the right thing. I met Mr. Kasnnar at SHOT 4 or so years ago and really took a liking to him for his personality and a really broad spectrum of knowledge, technically, and of the firearms industry as a whole. Best o’ luck to them.

What is the effect on the value of my stack of CD stripped lowers?

That all depends. For example, I don’t think a stack of Barry Manilow CDs will ever be worth much. On the other hand, William Shatner CDs sell well to those who have ever listened to one as they will pay a premium price to get their hands on one to ensure their destruction

I take it you’re also one of the unlucky few?

I have a CDD rifle… (LE version) it’s always been a reliable rifle, right now, it’s my back up. They did make a pretty decent rifle, I’ve got an old copy of the “chart” according to it, at the time the only things they got dinged for, was BCG not HP’d, MPI’d, barrel was MPI’d, but not HP’d, not finished under FSB, and they used straight pins in the FSB,(at the time so did LMT) I hope things go well for them…

Oh God! I remember Retards asking if they should get rid of their CD lowers since there’d be no customer support for them.

Great news. They were one of the good ones as far as listening to what the community wanted and then actually making it available rather quickly compared to some of their competition. I was sad to see them go for many reasons but right now I just want a new rear sight for one of their SP Tactical shotguns I have that broke.

I think this is good news. Michael was a very responsive guy, and I always liked their customer service.

I built up a pair of their lowers with G&R lower parts kits, and they work quite well. One sits under my TacSol .22 upper, and it gets a lot of work.

If they bring back the same level of quality on their lowers as before, I think it will do well.

Hello to our M4C friends,

Yes, it is true, we are bringing CD DEFENSE back to the market. I started a new company and managed to obtain the license to use the Charles Daly and CD DEFENSE trademarks.

My thanks to all of you for your kind words. If any of you will be at SHOT please stop by our booth #15238 to say hello and see what’s new.

Our new website is not finished yet but hopefully will be up and running immediately after the show at www.CDDefense.com.

Again, thanks for your support. M4C was an important part of my AR education a few years ago and I trust it will again play a role in our future plans.

Sincerely,

Nice!

GREAT news! Now get cracking on the TAVOR.

It was sad to see them go. I too, was very interested in the Tavor. I’m glad to see a fine company making a come back.

Awesome news. We’ll have to sit back and see what the future brings.

I hope SMGLee does his usual Shot report, in detail.

I would be surprised if he didn’t.

There will be a lot of disappointed people if Charles Daly comes back and they don’t bring the Tavor to market!! As a matter of fact there is a frankenthread over on Ar15.com that was started when CD revealed they were working on bringing the tavor to market, it is still going strong 2.5-3yrs later!!! crazy…

I did a double take when I saw your logo, wondering if MK had also acquired an airline.
