Centurion Arms Hammer Forged Barrel

It doesnt seem like these would be pac nor. They did produce the blanks for the Noveske SS barrels at one time. FN makes more sense based on these supposedly being originally produced for the M249. This is a swag on my part though.

Really its no big secret, its FN…

Thanks for the clarification SMG

Monty got back to me saying that he’s not doing anything with an M4 profile. :frowning:

go figure

You could always buy one of these and send it to Adco to have it lightened under the handguards if you want a govt. type profile.

I’m not sure if that would be very cost effective after all the shipping and extra work. Might be the only option though considering the state of things.

Centurion Arms has a full service machine shop, they might be able to do the re-profiling for you if you send them an email seeking info on this type of work.

I know he will also pin gas blocks on the barrel for you, which is a must with this kind of set up…or at least a good idea.

Unfortunately, as per an e-mail reply of 4/11 regarding pinning of a gas block, Monty does not currently, “have the capacity to take in this type of work”.

Not surprising given current demands.

Paul

Your only other option if you really want this barrel in a lighter profile is to have one of only a very small number of authorized Noveske dealers build you an upper from scratch with an N4 light barrel. Unfortunately that is not an option at the moment due to lack of availability.

He quoted me 25.00 but does not have vltor gas blocks in stock.

Uh, I don’ know what to make of that. My request was for pinning a KAC gas block that I was willing to send in with the barrel.

Paul

I was going to buy his barrel and gas block .

What’s the cost, and does he do custom lengths?

He probably only has a jig for the vltor block. Just a guess though.

Do you mean a barrel & GB bought somewhere else?

Bingo!

I’m not trying to speak for Grinch (Monty) here guys, but I think the difference here is that Monty probably does not have time to do work on outside orders like pinning a GB on someone’s else’s barrel. It has been said before, this is a part time job for him.

Any idea what the weight is on the N4 Reece Barrel? That’s what I want but may opt for the Centurion as the Noveske’s are available.

Not sure. Grant or someone more knowledgeable may be able to chime in on this. It is lighter under the handguards than the Centurion barrel though. I guess there’s a reason they call it the N4 “Light” series.

I would take either profile in a 12.5" though!

For anyone searching:

The Noveske barrel is 1 lb 12 oz.

The Centurion Arms barel is 1 lb 15.4 oz.

what type of rifleing do these have?
