Centurion 39 Milled AK-47 Made In The US of A Review

Pros:
-Barrel is chrome lined. It’s 4140 steel and 1 in 10’’ twist as well.
-Laminate wood looks great
-Magwell has very little wobble with a wide variety of mags
-Made in the USA
-Reliable. 1 malfunction in a little over 800 rounds (was the 2nd round fired, after that smooth sailing since)
-Accuracy is good for an AK. With irons on a bench I was able to get ~3’’ groups consistently with brass cased RAS. Steel was around 4’’
-Very nice finish sans one part (safety)
-Price. These are going for $550 at several sites currently

Cons:
-2 tang stock limits options for stocks
-I personally prefer the original sights (more on this in the video) but some may consider these a pro
-Finish on the safety doesn’t match rest of rifle.
-No side rail
-It’s not a CHF com-bloc built rifle. But, it’s not priced like one either

Not to pick nits but I would call 1 malfunction out of 800 rounds reliable (unless you did something to cause it) and Type 3 rifles were never intended to have “stock options”. fixed or underfolder and each one in a dedicated format.

Excellent review. I have been thinking about buying an AK, guess I need to look into this one.

One of these popped up used in my neck of the woods and I passed due to my previous issues with century rifles… Maybe in should of taken a look into it, would of looked great next to my arsenal and norinco. Oh well, thanks for the great review!

Excellent video! Any indications on the receiver who actually made it? I’m seriously doubting that Century manufactured this rifle together from start to finish.

I bugged you enough for this review, and I wasn’t disappointed. Good informative review, just like always.

Nice vid as always. But one thing on the rifle… Is the top cover about to pop off? It appears to be on very loosely from the vid (the selector fit doesn’t look great either), but it might just be an angle thing or how the cover is machined where it fits the rsb.

Thanks. I don’t know but I wouldn’t be surprised if CIA did. They’ve expanded a lot in the last few years.

It’s on there as snug as any other AK actually. Might be the angle…

Nice review, thanks.
