CBP awards rifle contract to Geissele

USMS SOG has been running Nordic Components blasters since 2018 or 2019. The contracts were through Lionheart Alliance.

ALG no longer making rails was a disappointing move.

Not seeing how that is related to forums.

May be a valid business decision though.

As long as we are on that note, I could never figure out why they were diluting their own brand with the ALG rails. Then again, the money was all coming to the same place, so maybe it wasn’t an issue.

I saw the ALG rails as complementary to G rather than competitors. And they were still very high quality, just at a lower price point.

Been even buying used ones to have on hand as a decent basic tube handguard with the option to add rails where needed.

I thought they were starting a Woman owned business for contracting purposes, but maybe they decided it wasn’t a move they needed to make or they put her on at the main company. No idea really.

I just think they realized that engaging with people on the forums often led to dealing with individuals who had an agenda and would never be ‘happy’. “Oh I want to talk to Bill”. Dude has a multimillion dollar company to run and his time is likely better spent on selling product than dealing with unhappy cloners and the like.

Same here. I just assumed it allowed the marketing of “value” items such as triggers and rails without diluting the main brand. I personally wish they were still cranking out ALG rails for people like me who want quality but don’t plan on fast roping into a battle anytime soon.

The guys who make the double barrel ARs and 3 gun shotgun components? I didn’t know that they make any actual ARs.

Yep, though I think that’s true doubly so for G in general.

They have a very big presence at things like the NRA convention, etc. Very consumer-oriented as their triggers are big money for them.

Probably 90% of their boost space oriented to triggers

That I get. In general forums have turned into such a caustic environment that there really is little to be gained by using them to engage with the general public. Especially when users can hide behind screen names and talk crap just because.

Yes. Nordic is a large precision machine shop and they make parts for several big names in the industry. Launched their own 556 / 762 guns in 2015 but some of their customers weren’t happy about them entering the gun business. Now they only make Nordic branded blasters for law enforcement and some CONUS / OCONUS mil groups.

They’re all over ARFCOM. I’ve talked to Bill through PM on there.

They seem more selective in what then comments they engage in, even in their industry forum.

I echo Molon’s concerns. Having said, I’ve been 100% happy with my Geissele 11.5” SBR. I run it suppressed all of the time and have had zero issues.

I own 3 Geissele’s (10.3”and 2 16”) and shoot them very regularly and have never had the slightest problem. I’m not discrediting the reports, only here to say that Geissele CAN make a great gun. I’m sure they are going through the pains of expanding their operation. Hopefully over the next few years they become more consistent.

Every maker has duds; Colt, BCM, Daniel Defense, etc has had it’s problems. I have two Daniel Defense barrels that are so over-gassed suppressed it hurt to shoot. I had to install new gas buster charging handles and a Bootleg Tactical suppressed BCG in order to shoot comfortably
