Cases of the NRA helping Black Americans

So dude on Twitter asks “Honest question: Can you cite 1 case of NRA helping a black person since 1998? Perhaps your grandparent’s NRA actively supported Blacks but this NRA… crickets, for Philando, for Botham Jean Shem, and many others (except they were quite active for the white terrorists in Oregon)”

Colion Noir posted links to some vids. I’m posting them here for those who get the usual BS about the “racist NRA” can use to shut them down:

First ignore Twitter.

Second, adding racial qualifiers to any debate is inherently racist. If there are members who happen to be black but aren’t getting their magazine then a problem might exist.

Much list justice, the NRA should be blind to considerations such as race, and for the same reasons.

This is much like me asking when the last time the PBS specifically benefited an old Irish male and then claiming they are racist against elderly Irish males if they can’t immediately provide a dozen recent examples.

In closing, it’s sorta sad that Colin Noir has to be the “black gun owner” and can’t just be a “gun owner” like everyone else. I get that he sorta banks on the notoriety, but it would be a better world if it wasn’t necessary.

While I don’t disagree with what you’re saying, it was in response to a Q specific RE black people, so it’s relevant in that context. Many like to claim how the NRA is racist, only comes to the help of white gun owners. etc, and it’s simply not true. As the anti gun forces consistently try and make it about race, I think Colin does a fine job of countering it as best he can. Maybe some day we will all just be “gun owners.” Today is not that day.

I fully understand the guy on Twitter was race baiting. But we don’t always have to jump through hoops just because they hold them up.

Kind of sad, in Twitter world the NRA only helps white people, on gun forums the NRA doesn’t help anyone.
