I have an RCBS Trim Mate and looking for some kind of attachment to trim my cases with. I have a manual RCBS trimmer but looking to go electric and there’s got to be some way to use the Trim Mate to trim cases.
Any suggestions?
Have you tried a drill attachment for the trimmer?
I use the Dillon RT1200. Works great. Can’t imagine doing a bunch of cases any other way.
Nope. Where can I get one? RCBS?
I know you are looking to keep using the RCBS trimmer but you can get into a Lee trimmer set without much money (<$15) and all you need is a drill. There is basically zero setup time involved as well.
search for RCBS Trim Pro drill… you’ll find it just about everywhere for under 10 bucks. even on their site just type “drill” in the search and it’ll show up.
I never used a case prep center. I did a search and it appears some people have tried modifying trim dies to work. I just know the cheapest and simplest way to automate would be to use what you have - the purpose built case trimmer and a drill.
I could imagine.
Always wanted to try one of the Dillon trimmer thing’s,but bought this instead in 223,friggin Love it,will be getting one in 308 soon !!!

I saw these mentioned elsewhere. So, it really works as advertised? What are the drawbacks?
Thanks.
Appreciate all the advice. I have decided to bite the bullet and get a Giraud. Ordered it last week. It won’t ship till June 1st. Buy once, cry once.
You’ll be able to do some “rediculous” trimming. ![]()
My best shooting buddy used a drill attachment for years before he bought a Giraud. He loves his and he can churn out a ton of brass now.

Yea,I want the Ultimate trimmer (Giraud),but cheaped out on the WFT !! The only drawback is its a hand held deal !! I’m thinking of mounting the drill,or something along those lines so I can one had the whole operation !!! For now I think the WFT is one of the best, but like markm says, spend the big money once and be done,LOL !! One of these days !!! ![]()
Does the WFT chamfer and all that? I would run it.
I had the possom hollow and that thing sucked ass.
No markm, there is a slight bur around the edge, cleans up easy, but it is there ! The Giraud does it all doesn’t it ? One other thing about the WFT,it does throw brass chips around,so you can’t do it while your watching TV,;),LOL ! Its a outside/Garage/Basement tool !!!
Yeah… I don’t mind the mess, but indeed the Giraud is mess free and does it all.
We’re shooting a half gallon of .223 brass every Saturday… so I can’t live without it.
Which reminds me I need to order a shell holder and trimmer blade set up in 308 for my Girard.
The Dillon is also good. Used one to trim the star crimp off of 6K of Hirtenburger 308 blank ammo that I’ve been rumning through a SCAR and a Cetme.
Good choice. I have both a Giraud and a Dillon. Not sure which one I like better. The Dillon is nice for speed when setup in the 650 with the sizing die. But the Giraud give a nicer cut with the ID and OD chamfer. Plus, the Dillon is a lot louder with a vacuum running the whole time. I wear muffs with the Dillon.
I bought this one since RCBS is giving rebates with purchase…got 500 bullets for reloading. Paid for itself with the bullets.

I thought about one of those but there way to bulky fo me and do not increase speed enough. I added the three way trimmer, and its faster than using any of the powered trim pro options. The op already ordered a giraud.
Rcbs now has the universal case prep center. It will be available later this year, and the trim pro is spring loaded. When you insert the case it does the trimming on its own. It also has a case prep center with 4 or 6 stations so you can add tools like chamfer, debur, primer pocket uniforming, or flash hole debur tools. It also has the universal case holder. That is what Im going to get when it comes out. I would by a giraud, but due to the fact it indexes off the shoulder its a no go for me. I trim certain revolver cases once so i have uniform crimps.
Hopefully with the universal.case prep center i Will be able to use the three way trimmer head, and after i pull them off i can do all the little jobs i do by hand. Like uniforming primer pockets/cleaning, and debur flash holes both sides. If i buy it and don’t like it Im going to sell it, and buy a giraud for rifle case then the trim pro Will be used for pistol cases only.
