Anyone know where a California AR-15 owner can get 30 round mags? I only have one and need a few more. Seems no company is selling/shipping them here…
If you did not own them before 2000: Your S.O.L.

Ya, I’ve been out of the AR world for a few years, and am just getting back into it. Maybe I can get lucky at the upcoming Reno gun show. If not, I’ll have to make more “out of state” friends.
You might want to avoid announcing that you intend to commit an infraction of your state’s laws on a public forum such as this.
Rhino,
I shot him a PM stating the same thing…

Well, you do realize you live in Kalifornia! Maybe you can escape.
Actually, this was more of a joke topic than anything else. (note my sad smile on original post). I am not interested in violating any statutes either.
Probably because of this:
Penal Code §12020(a)(2)
“It is unlawful for any person to manufacture, cause to be manufactured, import into the state, keep
for sale, or offer or expose for sale, or give or lend, any large-capacity magazine.”
More info in the California Firearms Laws Summary Booklet
Of particular note is page 10 of that PDF file which lists all the prohibited items.
Thanks.
I appreciate that.
I just spent ten minutes reading through the codes to quote the exact wording.
Next time please be more clear about your jokes so I don’t waste my time trying to help someone who appears that they don’t know the laws.
My appologies. I was reading the above sticky on mags and became a little upset a Ca’s laws again. Sorry for wasting your time, on my poor choice of humor. I will be more thoughtful in the future.
I accept your apology.
They are watching you.
Man! That pamphlet is enough to make you SICK!
Now you see how a guy could get mad after reading through it. ![]()
Am I reading this right? California has banned the private sale of guns?
It is unlawful for a person who is not a licensed firearms dealer pursuant to Penal Code section 12071, to sell, loan, or otherwise transfer a firearm to a non-licensed person unless the sale, loan, or transfer is completed through a licensed firearms dealer. (Penal Code §§ 12071, 12072, 12082.)
NOTE: The infrequent sale, lease, or transfer of firearms between individuals - meaning five or fewer sales per year of any number of handguns or irregular and occasional sales of other firearms is allowed. However, such sales/transfers must be completed through a dealer licensed pursuant to Penal Code section 12071.
What in the blue hell. Vaya al tienda de arma y encuentre toda la forma 4473.
If I read that PDF correctly, both airsoft (sell/distribute imitation firearms) and Shotgun News (advertising prohibited weapons) have been banned in California as well.
One small cut as a time, it seems.
All firearms transfers between parties that are not directly blood-related must go through a dealer.
Father-Son or Son-Father are ok, but you mail in a registration card if it’s a handgun.
If I read that PDF correctly, both airsoft (sell/distribute imitation firearms) and Shotgun News (advertising prohibited weapons) have been banned in California as well.
Some parts of the law are selectively enforced, but they are indeed parts of the law.
