Can't Register To M4C

Have a friend trying to register to M4C and it’s not allowing him. Apparently he needs to answer a question (assuming spam bot type shit), the length of standard 5.56 NATO round. He’s answered it a million different ways but still can’t get on.

Any help here?

5.56x45mm

The standard 5.56 NATO round is how many millimeters in length?

The correct answer is 45.

This was implemented earlier today in response to several persistent spam attacks that we’ve been dealing with behind the scenes lately. The question is actually quite straightforward if you read it carefully enough, and the answer is easily found online for those who aren’t quite sure for whatever reason.

He says “45” isn’t working

I’ve tried 45, 57 (OAL), forty five, fifty seven…

Yes, he has tried ‘45’ and nearly every single different way to express it. Still can’t get on.

did he put mm as in “45mm” ?

Ask him to the the answer 5 and see what happens. We might need to make a few tweaks.

I’m working the issue. Likely a “regular expressions” error, but until I can get it completely figured out, we’ve simplified the question to a simple math problem.

The answer (What is One plus 1?) is now 2. =]

AC

I like the answer “45”

If they cant answer that, do they really belong here :haha:

Hell I didn’t know the answer either! We’re not trying to prevent people from registering here, even newbies. We’re trying to prevent bots from creating hundreds accounts per day!

Hello guys, I was the guy trying reg. For whatever reason 45 does not work. At first I thought it was some hardcore question that was OAL or something tricky but after seeing this thread and hearing what you guys had to say it was obviously a glitch in the system.

Important part is I’m registered now!

Thanks to Joey for helping me out on this one.

Welcome! Sorry for the issues but I believe we have them straightened out now. We had to take some extra measures because as the forum grows we attrach more spammers and for a while it was tough to keep up.

AC worked out the issues, changed the question, and now we appear to be back on track.

Sound good! And thanks for the welcoming
