I know pretty much all lower are the same. Well, for the most part anyway. Only so many ways you can make a lower.
I’m having a hard time deciding what lower to buy to finish out my newest build.
Full Daniel Defense upper, Daniel Defense lower parts kit and then a Magpul CTR and MIAD grip.
I would LOVE a DD lower but unfortunately the folks at DD stopped selling them!
I’ve narrowed it down to Noveske or BCM I think. I’d love a KAC, LMT or COLT lower too but unfortunately, those only seem to be sold as complete lowers and they run $500~900.00 dollars.
So, if given the choice between a Noveske or BCM, which would you choose?
If you like the DD lower, the closest you will get to it is the Ranier Arms lower. G&R sells them and so does Ranier Arms. I just purchased one from Grant and the fit/finish is fantastic. Much cleaner than other lowers out there.
Between the two, BCM, only because I don’t have any experience with Noveske lowers. I purchased a BCM blem about two weeks ago. I mailed in my order on a Thursday, and the lower was at my FFL about a week later. And I CANNOT find a blemish on it to save my life.
You mentioned liking Daniel Defense lowers. I’m fond of them too, especially the flared magwell. As someone else mentioned, the Rainier Arms lower, sold by Grant at G&R Tactical (and Rainier Arms) is about the next best thing to a Daniel Defense lower. It has a similar flared magwell, and it does look nice, but that is just an added bonus, not a functional one.
Short answer:
Any lower from the professional grade manufacturers would be an excellent choice.
