Can the mag catch spring on the M&P 9c be made any stiffer?

Guys I have a MP9c MCP#### with the 12 dots in the dustcover. Gun came with the updated striker, but the “1” mag catch.

I read that the number 2 mag catch will make the length of distance to depress the mag release longer (to drop the mag) , but it won’t make the force required drop the mag harder.

Is S&W going to make a stiffer spring for the mag catch, or does the number 2 catch really solve the issue of the dropping mags, and the light force needed to drop the mags?

No. Currently mag catch springs on M&Ps are molded into the frame. This is supposed to change allowing them to be swapped out. If you’re hitting in on accident you count shorten button on it.

gotm4, do you have a best guess as to when the updated frames will be released? Also are the strikers and mag catches for the mp9c the same?
