Question for those in the know. I currently have a California version SOCOM II with the Cali legal gas block/ flash hider. Now that I am leaving the state for a more gun friendly state I need to know if the gas block/ flash hider is removeable. I would like to put a standard type one on that will accept different flash hiders and a suppressor. Thanks.

SEI is developing a new type of gas plug for the SOCOM to clear the SEI/FEI DC sound suppressors locking collar.
When you order a SOCOM kit you need to specify if you want the ability to run a SEI/FEI DC suppressor.
The cost for the new can friendly gas plug is $45.00
The new gas plug will be M80HT double heat treated

Thanks for the info. Just to be clear I want to “un- Kalifornianize” the rifle. Sights are no big deal because I just got a Troy MCS for a good price and will be slapping it together when I get home. Just curious as to where you got your dope. I went to the website and couldn’t find anything.

The kit has not been released yet and the first run will consist of 50 kits.
LAW483 should have one of the first kits and he will post pictures and a review.

Thanks for the info. I just ordered some stuff from Ron for my upcoming project. I’ll keep my eyes open for this and maybe look into it when I go home next month. Especially since I will be close to SEI.

Is this the conversion you were referring to for the SOCOM II? I actually emailed Ron about this a few days ago and he advised that these are ready. I will probably be ordering one at the end of the month. Thanks much.
