Perfectly legal to import ammo. The law only applies to ammunition purchased inside the state. A CA resident can buy from out of state and bring it back into CA and it’s 100% legal and there isn’t a damn thing CA can do about it.
Except this is not about ammo registration or anything. It is about guns microstampinhg serial numbers or other stuff on fired shells
