I would give up a few of the least desirable/non-valuable guns that I don’t want and keep (hide) the good ones.
No one will buy 80 million gun owners all losing their guns during their last duck hunting trip or having them all stolen.
So when is the state of CA going to confiscate firearms from all those gangbangers and narcos?

Once you get out of the big cities, there are a lot of gun owners who are not going to easily give up their guns…sooner or later, someone is going to refuse…
So the plan is to confiscate guns that were purchased legally but the person has either:
a) Committed a violent crime. That misdemeanor you have on your record was mistaken for a felony. Oops. Sorry, you’re guns have been destroyed.
b) Has a restraining order against them. So Jane who is an anti-gun liberal decides to get a restraining order against her X because the scary man with the guns supposedly threatened her. You say evidence is needed for a restraining order? How much?
c) People who are deemed mentally unfit. People either won’t seek needed mental help or commit themselves voluntarily so the spouse’s, children’s, or roommate’s guns are taken for safety. It’s already happened. Oopsie.

The California Legislature is still considering measures that would require ammunition purchasers to pay for a permit, close loopholes on the existing assault rifle ban and impose a nickel-per-bullet tax to pay for mental health programs.
What is the ammo permit cost and qualifications?
What else can they say to justify this except they are attempting to tie legal ammo purchases to mental illness? The more you buy the better!
I hope in at least 4 months I will be the fresh free air of the rest of America. Specifically Wisconsin. 
I am guessing with all my Assault bullets, ammo stash of 5.56 and 12 gauge, they consider me pretty fucking nuts.
Another problem is that in CA all “assault weapons” must be registered and can only be sold out of state through a DOJ licensed person.
Handguns are also registered and private sales are not allowed (AFAIK) so if someone came looking for those weapons you may have some explaining to do.

Sooo I have to ask, atleast as far as the convicted of a violent crime thing goes why weren’t they doing this right a long like every state that prohibits posession and ownership of a Firearm following some criminal convictions? Am I missing something?
