Capacity

I managed to get 27 rounds in hte magazine. I function tested it with 25 rds.
I will try it with 27 at a later date.

Fit-drop free or not, and if not, what lower

I will check this tonight
. I did not test this Saturday.

Finish

the finish seems to be consitent across the magazine. It does not rub off on your hand. I will compare it to my PRI mags at a later date.

Function

I ran approx. 40 rounds through one of the magazines on Saturday. It functioned 100%

What ammo did you use

SSA 110gr pro hunter

what load length can you actually get in them load to max capacity with no drag or functioning issues.

I am waiting on some SSA 140gr bergers. They should fit if my measuremanets were correct.

The Magazine will not seat on a closed bolt when loaded with 27 rounds.

The test rifle

The bolt hold open operated properly for both cycles with the magazine. Even with a Magpul BAD lever.

Excellent review and clear pics! To be clear, you are talking about the newest edition of C Products 6.8 mags released within the last month, Gen 2, I believe. Correct?

Are you reviewing the new C Products Defense mags or the old C Products mags.

I recently bought (2) 25 rd CPD 6.8 magazines:

Both loaded to capacity,fed & locked the bolt back on empty without issue.

Ammo used: Hornady 110gr

Reasonable priced,functioned without issue: I will acquire a few more!

Have you tried loading up some Hornady 120gr SSTs?

No to the 120 SSTs.

I am waiting for some SSA 140gr Berger loads

Thanks for the review. I have a box of 140 bergers, want to see if they fit the CPD Gen 2 magazines.

The PRI are the Gold standard, and are priced like it.

I have a bunch of Kies 15 round magazines, they work great and good price. But they don’t take the bergers.

I’m glad to hear these C Products mags work. I bought some C Products 5.45 mm mags and they were horrible. Absolutely horrible. I sent two back to Midway and got a refund but the other two came with S&W 5.45 uppers which I obviously did not want to return. I kept them, I use them for malfunction clearance practice. One can be relied on to jam at least four times in thirty rounds, often five or six times. The other does not jam as reliably, two or three per thirty. After that experience I would have to have a mighty good reason to buy another C Products magazine. Like maybe no one else makes what I need.
