Buying a factory SBR from a 3rd party?

I am interested in purchasing a new KAC 11.5" SBR that I have seen around a few places such as Knesek Guns, etc.

My question is, how does the transfer of a factory SBR work when it is coming from a 3rd party supplier as opposed to it coming specifically from the factory to my Class 3 dealer.

I understand how it works if I were to say, purchase a factory SBR directly from Noveske. But what are the rules when purchasing one from a 3rd party?

Any idea how many transfers are involved?

You as a non-SOT cannot purchase a factory SBR directly from any manufacturer unless you live in the same state as said manufacturer.

The person you want to buy this from must send it to your dealer in your home state on either a Form 3 or Form 4 depending on if the seller is an SOT.

You home state dealer will then transfer it to you on a Form 4.

What he said. Transfer from SOT-SOT on Form 3 and then to you on a Form 4.
