witch is a better rifle the bushy m4a3 or a colt 6920? because i am going to buy a new rifle and i cant pick one.
Assuming this isn’t a troll post (these discussions rarely go well), you should read this thread: Comparison of Major Brands
It’s a personal choice. Choose what is better for you. I’ve owned both and personally considered them both fine weapons.
The BM isn’t up to the same specs as Colt, but that doesn’t mean you should pay what most people are asking for a 6920. Buy some other brand with the same high quality specs as the Colt, but at a lower price.
Here is a good place to start: https://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=7235
For what its worth, I used to be a BM fanboy (hence the screen name) but I’m going to tell you right now: DO NOT GET THE BUSHMASTER, not because it won’t work, but because there are better options for the same money, its a fine rifle, but why pay the same $$$$ for a product with less quality control, even if they are usually fine? Spend the same money elsewhere, and you get a rifle made to better specs and better quality control for the EXACT same amount of money.
Before this gets silly (and needlessly confrontational), let’s just make the easy call here and say that, if you have the money to get a Colt, then there isn’t any reason to ask the other half of your question.

Hello,
Sadly, the Bushmaster’s that I’ve seen lately have been ruffer than a night in jail.
True, any maker can & has let some bad ones out the door, but, the NIB Bushmaster I saw the other day took the cake. Excluding all the usual stuff, this weapon came from the Factory with the take down pin only about 2/3rds of the way installed and was literally Frozen in place, the shop owner had to drive the pin out with a hammer & punch, and then had to drive it back into place (he fully seated the pin) then we tried with all our might to remove the pin the normal way (finger pressure) with-out success, then he said Ahhh, it’s got too much Parkerizing and he beat it out again, and then beat it back in again while at the same time he was assuring me that it’s really “just as good as”… a Colt. This Bushmaster also looked like it had been finished with a wrinkle finish paint (now I know the finish doesn’t dictate how it’ll run… or not) but for the price their bringing, No Thanks!
Take Care.
I bought a BM about 6 years ago haven’t had any problems with it except for the gas key (staked it no prob since), But a friend of mine bought a new BM just about a month ago and it doesn’t even feel like the same class rifle. The “fit and finish” (had to throw that in
) are ruff and loose, and I see now what you guys are talking about with the alignment of the front sight. If that’s the quality of the new bushmasters I didn’t get just a good one, I got a excellent one. Id put my money on the Colt.
I read “fit and finish” like 6 times in the last edition of “The Book of the AR-15”. As stupid as that is, I still have to buy the magazine for the gun porn.
I’m guilty too
Yeaaaaah, markm is back!
Go for the Colt all the way. That is what I trust for Duty and it has a better resale value in the long run.
If you decide not to get a Colt then the next best is the LMT and they do sell complete rifles to LEO.
They had to start a new site to get it done!![]()
The 6920 is considered the top dog,but it is pricey. the Bushy is a good weapon but the fact is the Colt 6920 is better. both will do the job . I would say if you can afford $1300.00 get the 6920. the bushy should be $850.00 . you may also want to look at the ADS that C4 GRANT has at $820.00. or you could get a LMT upper at $600.00 inc the BCG,and a Stag lower with M4 stock for 250.00 and push in 2 pins and bingo M4 . you will need a Arms 40 BUS at 109.00 also . that ADS is looking better all the time . people covet the Colt so at resale time they bring all the money. also the poney roll mark will be a braging point . check with Grant on the ADS B4 you buy the Bushy .
What’s your intended use of the rifle gonna be?
COLT > LMT > ADS - I wouldn’t consider anything else if I was buying a complete rifle.
Well the Noveske N4 as well but it was not mentioned in the original question.![]()
Take a look at some Sabre Defence rifles.
The REAL question. And can you afford ammunition and training for whatever you choose?
What Submariner said. Plinking,3-gun/competition,or full blown my life depends on it trainig. The ammo count increases with type of use.
How often do you shoot?
What is your overall plan for the weapon?
How much are you able to spend?
