I am wanting to put a Daniel Defense M4 rifle length rail system on my Bushmaster ORC. I am on the fence at to get the 10" or 12" model. Has anyone fit one of these FF rails over the stock gas block that comes on the ORC model?
I’d recommend the Daniel Defense 12" Lite Rail or RIS II M4A1 rail.
Either will need a low-profile gas block or a ‘shaved’ FSB to fit under these rails. If you go with an aftermarked gas block I’d highly recommend having it pinned.

It still needs to be quite a bit smaller and the sling swivel tabs and bayonet lug cut off to fit under a Lite Rail or RIS II rail.
I also got a BushyORC. Does anyone know if the DD low-profile gas block fit the bill? I assume it can fit under the rail, as it’s very small, but I’m not sure the clamp-on style would allow it to be pinned in place.

What are the benefits of having a 12" over the 10" rail ?
2" more rail so you can run your grip, bipod, light or laser further out. The further out you can hold with your support/reaction side hand the more control you’ll have of the rifle/carbine.
