Ok so my guilty pleasure, the M17s is revealed.
Aside from the annoyance factors I.E. gasses in the face, carry handle/sight issues and the fact that it weighs more than your average Jerry Springer guest, I like it.
I’ve seen lots of modification done to the M17 and I have worked out the rail/sight mounting and charging handle issues. I also have plans to float the barrel differently than it is currently done. We’ll see how that goes.
So that leads me to my current dilemma. What would be the best configuration for the cooling slots in the barrel shroud?
I’ve seen the Kurt’s Customs M17’s as well as some other heavily modified versions.
I have no interest in cutting the barrel or shortening the barrel shroud ATM, but I do want to cut some effective cooling vents and by doing so lighten the tube.
If anyone has any suggestions on what would be most effective I would appreciate it.
P.S. I know there are many people out there who have no love for the M17s. I would ask them to reserve comment. Please no flames.
