When did Bushmaster start adding M4 feedramps to their uppers? Is this some type of build gun that PK is doing? Does anyone know if RR HP/MPI inspects their BCG’s?

Mine has what Id cal ‘extended’ ramps, but IIRC Bushmaster calls them M4 ramps

Appears to be sold out.

I purchased a Bushmaster Carbine right before elections and it had M4 cuts on the barrel but not the receiver.

Bushmaster has offered their “M2” extended ramp on select-select fire, gov/LE, and special runs for years. More recently, more have been seen in normal production.

Per RR, they don’t HP/MPI their bolts or barrels. I don’t recall if they batch test or test the material, though.

I know that the 500 we purchased back in 04/05 did not have feedramps so I was curious if they were doing this as the norm.

I know I won’t spend that kind of money on an upper with no HP/MPI testing, 1/9 twist, etc…etc…

The Bushy I bought 2 months ago has ramps on the reciever. The woman at the local gun shop said she had never seen m4 feed ramps of any kind nor had she heard of them after years of building AR’s!

That’s pretty scary, though not surprising.

Im not sure when they started but I didnt hear about it until late last year and I got one a couple of months ago.
It may not be standard, just an available option like the 1/7 twist rate.

why would they not have them? cost?

That’s the 64K dollar question. Same with the other shortcuts they have been known to make in the past.

They’ve been standard for the last year or two. Nothing new here.

I don’t know about “standard”, but they’re being seen more often.

Sounds like a question to submit to BM to see if they’ll call them “standard”, and on which models.

My Bushmaster, that I picked up 8 months ago, had the M4 feed ramps, in both the barrel and reciever as well. I have since looked at three other Bushmasters up to 5 years old and they too have the M4 feed ramps.

That’s odd. I have seen plenty of Bushies going back to around 2004 and none of them had M4 feedramps. The barrel thing is an obvious one. The barrel either has a rifle barrel extension or a carbine one.

I have a feeling it has to do with the same issues that results in abnormal offerings from time to time from everybody. Parts being short and a high demand for guns is probably resulting in whatever extra parts allocated for a specific run are rolled over into production of their “standard” offerings.

Then again, maybe somebody over at BM read the TDP finally.

All of the Bushies I have looked at have the M4 exterior barrel configuration (i.e. reduced diameter area for grenade launcher attachment), like mine does, but I don’t know if that has anything to do with it.

i am not one bit impressed by this site, i clicked on 5 different items i wanted more info on and 4 out of the five come up BLANK !!

That’s because they pull the item off the site if it’s out of stock. Information can always be found at the MFR’s site, which is usually the better place to get info for a specific product. Of course, if you’re just looking for their retail prices, then I understand your frustration, but you’re out of luck.
