Bushmaster Arm Pistol

Guys, need some input from the collective wisdom and experience of those on the forum. I had the opportunity to purchase a Bushmaster Arm Pistol way back in the early/mid 70’s and had to pass on it at the time. Of course I’ve wanted one ever since…
So, my question is this: Anyone had one, had experiences good or bad with one, any information you can pass my way, parts availability, etc?
I’m sure it’s probably not the smartest purchase I’ll ever make, but it’s like that proverbial itch that’s just not going to go away till you scratch it.

That was the very first firearm I ever purchased and the only one I regret not keeping.

I had it a short time back in the late 70’s. It was fun to shoot and never gave me a problem.
I traded it for a blue printed Ram Air 455 H.O. engine that I promptly installed into my '71 GTO rag top

From what I can tell doing some Googling, there appear to be three variants that can be determined easily by the position of the safety selector. The first one had the switch directly above the trigger, the second inside the trigger guard, (or vise versa) and the in the final, it was placed toward the rear of the weapon, behind the mag well. H2O_MAN, which one did you have?

The first one with the safety above the trigger.
